Jack John Miller was born on April 4, 1929 in Greeley Colorado. He grew up in the Denver area and went to high school at West High. He left home at the age of 15 years old and joined the merchant marines. After the merchant marines he joined the navy for 7 years and specialized in communications and graduated second in his class. He served on the U.S.S. Wisconsin, New Jersey, Missouri and a submarine the U.S.S. Tilefish. After the navy he went into the furniture business with his brother Dave and his father Jack. He then for the remainder of his career started a furniture repair business which he worked in for 30 plus years.
He has two boys, by his first marriage, John and Jim Miller. He later married Verlie DeLuna and together they had Steven, Debbie and Jack Miller. He was known for his jokes about Trinidad where Verlie was from. He loved to spend time with his family and especially take trips in their motor home. His hobbies were fishing, camping/traveling and being very involved in his children's sports and activities.
He accepted the challenge to learn the Spanish language and at one time served as an interpreter for the Lakewood Police Department one night a week
He was also very involved in service to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He and Verlie were missionaries in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
