James Anthony Berg

James "Jim" Anthony Berg, 81, of Aurora, passed away May 24, 2015.

James is survived by his wife, Muriel Berg; six daughters, Eileen (Steve) Charlett, Barbara (Jim) Biggs, Francie (Mike) Rooks, Lorrie (Don) Ross, Patricia (Robert) Dixon, Elizabeth Berg; two sons, Jim (Stacy) Berg Jr., Peter (Stacey) Berg; two step-daughters, Barbara (Michael) Ireland, Bonnie (Jim) Donahue; two step-sons, Dwaine (Marion) Gullickson, Brian (Jody) Gullickson. He will deeply be missed by his 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; sisters Lucille, Eleanor and brother Ken (LaVern). He is preceded in death by 1st wife Mary, his parents, siblings Gilbert, Marie, Lois, Robert and Clifford.

Jim was born May 19, 1934 on the family farm in Endres Township, Max, North Dakota to Peter Martin and Francis Berg. He graduated from Max High School in 1952. Jim joined the U.S. Navy for 4 years and re-enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. His career of 16 years with the Air Force offered continuing travel and opportunities. He was married to Mary Roberta Healy in June 1956. They were married for 49 years. While serving in the Air Force, Jim was stationed in England from 1958 to 1962. During that time he achieved the status as the number one Stock Car racer for the British Stock Car Racing Association. He returned to the states in 1962 with a multitude of trophies and many wonderful memories. After retirement from the Air Force, Jim opened and operated Jim's Auto Clinic Eastside Radiator in Aurora. Jim was a member of St. Therese Church. On April 2, 2005 he married Muriel Gullickson and they just celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary. He was also an avid gardener, a lifelong car enthusiast, and a cook. His family will miss his unshakable sense of humor, his fierce loyalty, and his great heart.
