James Edward Kluge
March 26, 1925–March 2, 2013
James (Jim) Edward Kluge, of Littleton, Colorado, was called to eternal life on March 2, 2013. Born to Karl and Gretchen (Jones) Kluge on March 26, 1925, Jim grew up in the town of Waukesha, Wisconsin, and later, with three brothers, enjoyed rural life in the countryside outside of town.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Camilla Antoinette Brucker. Together Jim and "Toni" raised four children: James (Charlene) of Port Orchard, Washington; David; Joanne of Louisville, Colorado, and Christine of Northglenn. The family moved several times, eventually settling in Littleton, Colorado, where Jim and Toni set down roots in 1960. The family continued to grow with 14 grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Jim proudly served with the United States Marine Corps during World War II in the Western Pacific. Returning home, he earned an electrical engineering degree at Marquette University in Wisconsin and continued graduate studies with schools in Washington, California and Colorado. While in Colorado, Jim earned recognition as a senior member of the IEEE, the world's largest professional organization. He was Senior Editor of an international electronics engineering magazine (EDN), and two of his articles received national acclaim; one was entered into the Congressional Record. A Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Colorado, Jim retired from his career while working with Winegard Research and Development Lab in Evergreen. He loved the daily commute through the hills of the Rocky Mountain Front Range.
Jim also enjoyed serving, along with his son David, on the Arapahoe Rescue Patrol in Colorado.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his son, David, and his three brothers Karl "Burr", Donald, and David.
In lieu of flowers, Jim had requested that monetary donations be made for Mass intentions in his name for repose of the soul. If they wish, donors may make their own arrangements at other parish churches or religious communities.
