He is survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Frances; wife Hazel; children Rebecca (Robert) Friis, Cynthia Wilson, Eizabeth (DJ) Masteller, James (Susan) Thompson and William (Patricia) Thompson and ten grandchildren.
