James M. Barnes, 76, of Aurora, passed away October 11, 2015.
He was born September 5, 1939 in Sayre, Pennsylvania, the son of John and Jean (Sturrock) Barnes. He was a graduate of Cleveland Hill High School. He attended Erie County Technical School.
Papa lived his life with a positive attitude and only had kind words for those in his life. As a father, he had no judgments, no expectations, and no disappointment of us. He loved without condition and with such compassion no matter what we did as kids or adults. He was a great example of how God wants you to treat people, no matter the circumstance.
James is survived by Katherine Barnes, the mother of their children; Edward (Willa) Bryant, Dawn Bryant, Kelly Bryant, Wendy Williams, and Kimberly (William) Bartinaux; eight grandchildren, Javahn (Nicki) Johnson, Terrance (Joyce) Bryant, LaCrisha (DeVon) Clements, Isaiah (Djea) Bryant, Tasha Bryant, Jasmine Bryant, Jullian Williams, and Nastaja Barnes; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one great great-granddaughter on the way; brother, Jack (Kathy) Barnes; sister, Linda (Bill) Ward; three nephews, Scott (Renee) DePue, Michael Barnes, and Brian Marshall; niece, Susan Marshall Crum. He is preceded in death by Father, John Horace Barnes, Mother, Jean Elizabeth Barnes, Son, John Bryant, Jr.
