James M. Barnes

September 5, 1939 — October 11, 2015

James M. Barnes, 76, of Aurora, passed away October 11, 2015.

He was born September 5, 1939 in Sayre, Pennsylvania, the son of John and Jean (Sturrock) Barnes. He was a graduate of Cleveland Hill High School. He attended Erie County Technical School.

Papa lived his life with a positive attitude and only had kind words for those in his life. As a father, he had no judgments, no expectations, and no disappointment of us. He loved without condition and with such compassion no matter what we did as kids or adults. He was a great example of how God wants you to treat people, no matter the circumstance.

James is survived by Katherine Barnes, the mother of their children; Edward (Willa) Bryant, Dawn Bryant, Kelly Bryant, Wendy Williams, and Kimberly (William) Bartinaux; eight grandchildren, Javahn (Nicki) Johnson, Terrance (Joyce) Bryant, LaCrisha (DeVon) Clements, Isaiah (Djea) Bryant, Tasha Bryant, Jasmine Bryant, Jullian Williams, and Nastaja Barnes; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one great great-granddaughter on the way; brother, Jack (Kathy) Barnes; sister, Linda (Bill) Ward; three nephews, Scott (Renee) DePue, Michael Barnes, and Brian Marshall; niece, Susan Marshall Crum. He is preceded in death by Father, John Horace Barnes, Mother, Jean Elizabeth Barnes, Son, John Bryant, Jr.
