James Michael Sharp, 47, of Denver, passed away December 13, 2018.
He was born July 13, 1971 in Las Vegas, Nevada, the son of James and Cheryl (Moore) Sharp. He attended Kaiserslautern High School in Kaiserslauten, Germany. He was a graduate of Ironwood High School in Glendale, Arizona. He also attended Glendale Community College in Glendale, Arizona. He graduated from Emily Griffith Opportunity School as a Barber and received top grades in his classes.
James was attending the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Heather Ridge Ward. In his younger years, James was a Boy Scout. He also a part of the Scooter Community in Denver. James was a well-known DJ, known as DJ Quid, in Denver, Phoenix, Germany, Austin, TX and Portland, Oregon.
James was an extremely talented barber and had a knack for creating his own hairstyles for himself and for his friends. He was employed by Al's Barber Shop in Larimer Square, where he made friends of many of his clients.
James loved music. He was an eclectic fashionista. He was a foodie and was especially fond of tacos, gummi bears, chicken enchiladas and good Chinese food. James had wanderlust but especially loved the British Isles, which he visited numerous times. He also took opportunities to live in a few U.S. states. James was very passionate about his nieces and nephews and doted over them. They were like his children to him. James was a taught Thespian and lettered in Thespian in high school. He played the part of the Rabbi in Fiddler On The Roof in college and also the part of Mr. Asano in A Majority of One. He also performed professionally in several plays in Denver.
James was also a DJ and a member of an improvisational comedy club at The Wynkoop Brewery called Impulse Theater. He was well-known as a club-goer and had a penchant for the love of 80s Brit Pop. He helped create unique club nights around downtown Denver including "Quid" "Roller Coaster," "Fuzzy Robot," "Guilty Pleasures," "My Parents' Basement," and "The Regal Beagle." James never knew a stranger and made friends easily everywhere that he went with his warm smile and charismatic charm. He was a goofball by nature and liked to make people laugh whenever he could. He took great pride in teasing his sisters.
James is survived by his parents, James and Cheryl Sharp; three sisters, Jennifer Lee (Paul Sjodin) Sharp-Sjodin, Julia Roseann Sharp and Jessica Noel (Matthew Thurber) Sharp-Thurber; two nephews, Blake William Martinez and Luke James Thurber; two nieces, Liesel Noel Jacoby and Alice Kieran Thurber and a host of extended family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by niece, Madelon Olivia Thurber.
