Jamicia Sherrell Hughes was born on March 5, 1981 to the parents of Leroy Hughes and Arlene Richards in Phoenix, Arizona at St. Joseph Hospital.
Jamicia, what a beautiful person, who always ran away from the cameras; a wonderful spirit with a heart of gold. Though she ran hot and cold, she would give you the shirt off her back and shoes off her feet (just ask her mother because she had to go retrieve a few). Jamicia could also make you laugh or cry all in the same sentence. Jamicia's family was the most important people in her life; her boys, you better not say one cross word to them or it was on; very protective she was of family. She loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, or just being at the park. She played volleyball, softball, and basketball in high school, but her dream was to become a lawyer; boy, could she argue! She found her niche in the restaurant field as a chef, and she was damn good! She would alter their recipes and have customers requesting the meal to be made her way! She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many.
She leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Demazrai Jeron and Keondre Jequan Neblett; mother, Arlene Richards; step-father, Paul Richards, Jr., father, Leroy Hughes; brothers, Rashad Landrum (Menyon Landrum), Paul Richards, II, and Shannon Perry; sisters, Tennessia Boateng (Joseph Boateng), Kendra Richards, Tina Taylor (Roderick Taylor), Elyse Oliver, and Phoenix Hughes; and a host of family and friends.
Jamicia is preceded in death by her daughter, TaniyaTerrion Young; sister, Ebonee Hughes; and brother, Michael Caldera. Jamicia's walk with God began at a young age and through the years her faith never wavered. Often she would call her mother just to say "lets pray." Her favorite scriptures were the 23rd Psalms and the Lord's Prayer. Jamicia will be forever engraved in our hearts!
