Janice Walter Lundine, 64, died peacefully in her sleep on the morning of November 25, 2011. She was born in Eagle Pass, TX on December 17, 1947 to Elwood and Ann Walter. She is survived by her mother Ann, her loving husband of 30 years Steve, her sisters Peggy and Kiki, her brothers Bob and Greg, her children Tiffany, Morgan, Shean, and Sheila, and her grandchildren Staci, Kalin, Dillon, Elise, and Gage. Jan had a huge heart and an incredible love of animals. She lived a life full of love and devotion. During her children's teenage years, it wasn't uncommon for her to become the "mom" for two or three random friends of her children. Most of these newfound children came from broken homes, and even more broken lives. Still, she didn't judge them, and loved them equally. Many of them still refer to her as "mom" to this day. Her love of animals was so great that she once quit working at a pet store after refusing to sell feeding mice to a snake owner. When she was confronted by the store's owner, she said "You'll have to find someone else to sell these because I won't allow it!" She was always concerned about the well being of her children, and tried her best to put their needs in front of her own. She would want to be remembered for her strong love of her family, and her ability to create fun in almost any situation. Her life will be celebrated at Newcomer Funeral Home East Metro Chapel, 190 Potomac St Aurora, CO 80011 Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 1:00 pm followed by a reception for family and friends. The family asks that instead of flowers and donations, you send a donation in her name to your local Dumb Friends League, or to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
