Jane Kral was the youngest of three daughters born to John and Frances Kral on January 13th, 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio. Her two older sisters were several years older which made Jane special to the family. One day when she was 5 years old her father took her with him to the barber shop where he got a haircut and decided Jane also needed a haricut. When they returned home, her mother said that was her last trip to the barbershop and thus started her weekly trips to the beauty salon with her mother. Jane never once shampooed her own hair, being a very familiar customer to salons as her hair was always a priority to her until her death. Her father was a fireman with an eighth grade education, became Cleveland's youngest battalion fire chief in the history of Cleveland. Jane attended grade school at Holy Family Church School and High School at Our Lady of Lourdes. After high school she attended business school. She met Richard J. Oster at a family/friends gathering and were married November 23, 1948. To this union, Richard F. was born on March 3, 1951. In 1972 Richard's work took them from Cleveland to Rockford, Illinois and then from there to Arvada, Coloado in 1973. There in Arvada Jane got involved with Arvada Newcomer's Club and within that the Garden Club which she was a long time member of both until her death. She was also a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Spirit of Christ and then St. Anne's Catholic Church. Back in Cleveland a niece took her antique shopping and from that day forward she was hooked. She had a wide collection of miniature oil lamps, various other antique items, Aunt Jemima dolls, chickens/roosters including several real chickens prepared by taxidermists and she also had a thing for cows. She also usually had several house plants that she cared for and thoroughly enjoyed. She was a giver and gave graciously to her friends. She enjoyed shopping especially for clothes and jewelry. She also enjoyed eating out and one of her favorite places was White Fence Farm. She was devasted when she lost Richard in 1983 from a heart attack. She continued with her clubs and through friends met Frederic Roe who lived in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were married in 1984 and enjoyed a fantastic honeymoon in Hawaii. First they lived some time in Las Vegas and it was there that she attended a Baptists women's Bible study and accepted Jesus as her Savior. Soon the time in Las Vegas ended and Arvada won out. They enjoyed 24 years together until Fred passed away in 2008. During their time together she still enjoyed antiquing, collecting and eating out and spending time with family and friends. She had a bad fall a few years ago that did alter her life but she was a fighter and kept coming back, she worked her way from a wheel chair twice and amazed many therapists. Jane enjoyed an ice cream sundae on Friday night with family and went peacefully in her sleep Saturday morning, October 1st. She will dearly be missed by all.
