Jane Lynn Johnson

July 1, 1955 — January 16, 2013

Jane Lynn Johnson, 57, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013 after a long, but very brave fight against breast cancer.

She was born July 1, 1955 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and was the third of four children born to Roger and Vitela Johnson of Warba, Minnesota. Jane attended Warba Grade School until age 9 when her family relocated to Rifle, Colorado.

She graduated from Rifle High School and in time moved to the Denver area where she began a career as a Legal Secretary that spanned over 30 years and included some of the top law firms in Denver. During a 5-year portion of that time she had the opportunity to fulfill a life's dream of ballroom dancing in her own studio located in downtown Denver.

In her earlier married years, Jane was an active leader in La Leche League. She was an avid reader; enjoyed traveling whenever possible and loved being around her grandchildren, who affectionately called her 'Gran'. Her hobbies included card making, painting, cooking, piano and of course, ballroom dancing. Jane regularly attended Foothills Bible Church in Littleton, Colorado, and for a time enjoyed being a regular member of their choir.

Jane will be remembered as a vibrant woman, full of life, strong in her faith, dedicated to her beliefs, who showed the light and tenderness of God in her actions and deeds. She was a woman with a kind heart and compassion for everyone she knew, as well as a passion for a fine wine! She had an unbridled gift of hospitality and always a friendly smile - a woman who inspired those around her to be the best they could be. Jane was truly the Spirit of our Lord.

She is survived by her mother, Vitela Johnson, and her sister, Wendy Kempf, both of Warba, Minnesota; her two brothers and their wives, Rodney and Rosalie Johnson, of Delta, Colorado; Ross and Lee Johnson, of Clarksburg, Tennessee; her husband, Ron Missildine, of Aurora, Colorado; her four sons and their wives, Aron and Dallas Diaz, of Silt, Colorado; LCDR Adam and Stephanie Diaz, of Newport, Rhode Island; Maurice (Max) and Andrea Booth, of Thornton, Colorado; Mason and Nikki Booth, of Hernando, Florida, along with six grandchildren, Addison, Alex, Aubrey, Anika, Ava and Reagan.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Foothills Bible Church, 6100 S. Devinney Way, Littleton, Colorado. Final resting place will be in the family burial plot in Warba, Minnesota at a future date to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in Jane's honor to: Jane Johnson Memorial, c/o Newcomer East Metro, 190 N. Potomac St., Aurora, Colorado 80011. (Please make checks payable to Ron Missildine).
