Jann Eiland Burnett, 82, of Lakewood, passed away on December 7, 2015. She was born May 1, 1933, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, the daughter of James and Anne (Fry) Eiland. She was a graduate of Irving (Texas) High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and Drum Major of the marching band. She earned a BS in Secondary Education from Texas College of Arts and Industries and was a member of the Rifle Team where she won numerous trophies and matches. In 1953 she married Jerrold J. Burnett, Jr. Jann was a talented professional artist, working in a variety of media but her true passion was in watercolor. She traveled extensively and spent a number of years living in Saudi Arabia with Jerrold. After her husband passed in 2001, she remained very active with her artwork and spent considerable time with her daughter traveling to pet shows around the country.
Jann is survived by her daughter, Jill B. (Tracey) Lee, son James H. Burnett, granddaughter Lindsey Jannelle Lee, and daughter-in-law Mary Elizabeth Malia, all of whom will miss her more than they can say.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Haynes Eiland, mother Anne Maude Eiland, and husband Jerrold J. Burnett, Jr.
