Jean H. Konz was born in Seneca, Kansas on November 8, 1919. Her biological parents died in the flu epidemic in Seneca, Kansas and she was adopted by Alfred G. & Grace A. Barnum Hubach of Independence, Kansas at the age of six months. Jean grew up in Independence. She attended school through the Independence school system. She went to Jr. College at Baker University in Baldwin, Kansas. She was active in school activities and was a member of the Delta, Delta, Delta National Sorority as her adopted mother was before her. She married Dean Wesley Konz on November 28, 1940. They moved to Denver in 1948. They were married for 48 years until he passed away in 1985. The Konz's had four children, George D. Konz who died in 1941, Kenneth A., of Del Rio, TN, Katherine A. of Aurora, CO & David D. who passed away in 2004, Englewood, CO. She had seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Konz lived the last 12 years of her life with her daughter, Katherine. She was Admired and Loved by both family & friends. Her giving nature and strong faith were a gift to all who knew her. Services will be held in June in Independence, KS.
