Jean Louise (Agnew) Kelly was born on May 8, 1928 along with her twin brother, Jack, to Sylvia & John Agnew. She grew up in California and, at the age of 17 in March of 1946, went on a blind date arranged by a friend. Jean's date was a young sailor by the name of Paul Kelly.
Jean & Paul's love was nearly at first sight and they eloped in September of 1946. Their marriage and partnership in life have lasted some 66 years. Their love will last for eternity.
Jean and Paul have 5 children, 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandbabies. The happiest times of Jean's life centered around time with her family including her in-laws, cousins, nephews and nieces and other extended family. She was also blessed with many special friends over the years. Jean "never knew a stranger" (in her own words). She was loving and friendly to all who met her.
Jean had special talents and hobbies including cross stitching, gardening (especially beautiful roses), and tracing her family's history with genealogy which she worked at tirelessly for over 17 years. She loved watching the Denver Broncos for many years and loved going to Rockies baseball games. She also had a great love for the outdoors. She joined her husband, Paul, and friends in her younger years on Autumn hunting trips. For many years, Paul and Jean were avid campers. She loved to fish and enjoyed the Colorado mountains. Jean also loved listening to music and attending musical performances, whether it was a professional play or one of her grandchildren's school assemblies.
Jean passed away the evening of October 16, 2012. She was 84 years old. We, her family, take comfort knowing she is in a better place and free of the pain and infirmities that plagued her in recent years. We will miss her and love her for all time.
