Jere Lynn Crouse Newman


Jere Lynn Crouse was born June 28, 1947 in Denver, Colorado to Theodore and Carrie Beth Crouse. She was raised most of her young life in Deer Trail, Colorado. She graduated High School in 1965. The family moved to Aurora, Colorado just before the flood of 1965.

Jere struck out on her own working in the Aurora area until she met the love of her life Danny Larson. They were later married and to this union two children were born Christine Rae and Martin E.Years later the marriage dissolved and she met and married John Newman they lived happily in Aurora until she was widowed.

She worked many years at OEA and E-470 she semi retired and moved to Byers. She took up crocheting and had a rooster collection that would fill a freight liner. At any family gathering after the meal-clear out of the kitchen because she was the boss, she loved doing the dishes and keeping things spotless. She had a little dog Tazzy, before the last onset of sickness she had rented an apartment in Strasburg and was looking forward to moving into her new place again. But needless to say that didn't come to fruition. She lived her last year with her daughter and son-in-law. She passed away March 5, 2016 at Parker Hospital. She fought a courageous battle for the last two months and always had a great attitude and a smile no matter what she felt like.

She was preceded in death by her father (at the age of 2) mother, step-father, and husband. She leaves to mourn her daughter Christine, son-in-law Clint, son Marty, daughter-in-law Tiffany, there children Aspen, Annalei and Preston; four sisters Judy Pearson and family, Bette Jane Massey and family, Jacque Strode and family, Jody Troupe and family, brother Phil Nelson and family, sister and brother-in-law Deb and Roy Rogers and 2 stepsons Shawn and Chad of North Platte. Most of all she loved her grandkids and cherished every moment she could spend with them. She also leaves behind 12 nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
