Jerome (Jerry) Kenneth Wingo

May 22, 1950 — April 12, 2025

Jerome (Jerry) Kenneth Wingo was born in St. Louis Missouri on May 22nd 1950, to Jesse Wingo Sr. and Clara Wingo.

He was preceded in death by his father Jesse Wingo Sr. and siblings; Harvey, Bobby, Michael, and Patricia.

Jerry is survived by his mother Clara Wingo of Choctaw Oklahoma, his significant other of over 30 years, Maria Curry of Denver Colorado, his son Elijah Hale and Grandson King of Denver Colorado, Siblings: Jesse Jr.(Wanda) of Aurora Colorado, Darryl (Rita) of Choctaw Oklahoma, Marvin(Sylvia), Mark(Pamela), Anthony(Tiffany), and Tara, all of St. Louis Missouri, one surviving uncle Bernie Varner of Whitehouse Tennessee.

Extended family, his heartthrob Quinci, stepchildren Dale Marie, Antonio, and John, and a host of cousins, nephews, neices and other family members.

Jerry spent his formative years in St. Louis Missouri, where he attended school in the public school system. As kids we would spend the summer doing things like rolling car tires, shooting marbles, playing "cork ball", a St. Louis Thang back in the day, and other things.

In 1979 Jerry left St. Louis and moved to Denver Colorado, in search of better opportunities. His eldest brother Jesse Jr. was stationed there with the Air Force. He began working for the Gates Rubber Company shortly after arriving in Denver. He was very excited about being hired there, they paid excellent wages. After getting off work he would tell me about something called "piece work", where he was paid by his production. He would brag about how big his check was going to be that Friday because he had produced way above the norm. Unfortunately the job was short lived, he was laid off. He worked various other jobs until being injured, eventually being put on disability.

Jerry surrendered his life to Christ and was baptized at a church called, "Church In The City" located in Denver. A church that our brother Michael led us to prior to his passing in 2004.

Jerry had a great sense of humor, and a outgoing personality. Loved by all that had the opportunity to know him.

In his latter years his health began to decline. However he never complained nor seeked sympathy.

On April12th 2025, God decided it was time for him to rest and called him home!
