Stachowski, Jerome (Jerry)
In Loving Memory
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Jerry Stachowski who departed this life on 3 Oct 25 at age 71 in Lakewood Colorado. Jerry was a gentle soul, loved by family and friends, known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit. He touched many lives and left a lasting legacy through his compassion and dedication.
Born on August 26, 1954, in St Louis Missouri, Jerry grew up in Kettering, Ohio. He graduated from Fairmont East High School in 1972 and attended Wright State University prior to moving to his beloved Colorado where he skied his favorite black diamond slopes.
Jerry worked in local Dayton radio stations starting out at WWSU and WDAO. He was a radio engineer and worked in public TV and radio. He worked as system administrator for a variety tech companies over his career. He was truly a “system wizard.”
Jerry had a myriad of interests, including books, music, technology, photography, and especially all things dealing with the U.S. space program. He was thrilled to have witnessed several space launches in person. Congratulations to the Artemis II crew!
Jerry volunteered with the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest. He loved music and audio equipment and had a vast collection of both. He was a truly gifted photographer and mentor. Jerry was a member of multiple photo clubs including being a much-loved member of the SW Photo Club of Denver, Colorado. Jerry made several trips with the National Parks at Night group, workshops with the Rocky Mountain School of Photography, Route 66 travel, and his final trip to the Grand Tetons. His travels led to amazing photos and prints giving us a glimpse of how he viewed the world.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Shirley Stachowski as well as his brothers-in-law, Jack Davis and Ted Porumb Jr. Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Chris Davis and Gail Porumb, and brother, Kevin Stachowski (Alissa), many nieces and nephews and special friends, Carol Dutcher and Jill Mayer.
A heartfelt thank you to Frank and Jason Wimler, the SW Photo Club, including but not limited to Anne Schner, Deborah Crane, Desa Beslic, Eric Hageman, Jeff Van Scoyh and Bob Corson. Thank you to Elvis for his invaluable assistance and Jerry’s neighbors who assisted us. Special thanks to Thom Corrigan, our friend, advisor, and realtor.
