Joan J. Noxon, lovingly known as Jo, graced this world with her vibrant spirit on September 4, 1938, in Valentine, Nebraska. She journeyed through life with a heart full of adventure and a strong commitment to family, ultimately departing from us on January 24, 2026, in Littleton, Colorado.
Jo was a multifaceted individual whose talents and passions spanned a variety of pursuits. First and foremost, she donned the sacred hat of a devoted mother, nurturing her daughters and son with love and unwavering support. A woman of considerable creativity, she contributed to the world as a librarian, cake decorator, and skilled costume designer, while also engaging in the vital roles of secretary and organizer for family genealogy, as well as producing the newsletter for the Noxon association.
Her educational pathway led her through one year of business college, where her learning focused on becoming an adept secretary. Yet, it was her life experiences and the love she shared with her family that painted the richest tapestry of her existence.
Jo's personality was a delightful blend of social warmth, gentleness, and thoughtful care for others. She possessed a keen sense of humor and a daring spirit that led her to embark on many adventures, creating memories filled with joy. In various acts of craftiness, she demonstrated her skill in sewing, most notably making the wedding dresses for her daughters and flower girl dresses, which were emblematic of her deep affection and dedication to her family. Jo was also a culinary artist, spending countless hours in the kitchen, cooking and baking delights that brought smiles to all who were fortunate enough to share in her creations.
The importance of family was paramount in Jo's life. She thrived in their company, treasuring the history they shared and the bonds that united them. Her legacy continues through her living family members: her daughters, Teri and Lori (David), her son James (Dawn), her grandsons Justin (Jen) and Bradley (Nicole), her granddaughters Whitnie (Sean), Amy, and Carrie (Jeff), and her six treasured great-grandchildren. These connections were the cornerstone of her life and the source of her greatest pride.
Jo’s proudest accomplishments include her enduring marriage of 68 years to her beloved husband, Delmere (Gene), who preceded her in death. Together, they cultivated a family rich in love and resilience, leaving behind a legacy cherished by all who knew them.
