Joe W. Williams Jr., 68, of Denver, passed away September 21, 2017.
He was born August 24, 1949 in Truchas, New Mexico, the son of Joe and Mary (Trujillo) Williams.
He attended Manual High School but received his high school diploma while he was in the US Army.
Joe served honorably in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Korea and achieved the rank of SP4.
Joe worked for the Denver Mint for 34 years. He started as a Janitor and retired as the Plant General Foreman. He had a great work ethic and was dedicated to his job. Most of all, he is remembered as firm and fair.
In July 1979, he married Linda R. Mendoza.
Joe was a Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos fan. He will be remembered as a jokester with an abundant love for life. Above all, he loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Survived by children, PatriciaJo (Rick) Dawson, SherryJo (Andrew) Aguirre, Joe (Jessie) Williams, Anita (Rudy) Melendez, and Tony Ortega; 14 grandchildren, Donald, Tanya, Jennifer, Juanita, Rudy Jr., RaeAnn, Danielle, Eric, HayleeJo, Daniel, Adrianna, Quinten, Nevaeh and Isabella; 5 great-grandchildren, Vanessa, Aaliyah, Cecilia, Jacquelyn and Xaviaa; brother Jim Williams; several cousins and extended family.
Preceded in death by parents, Joe Sr. & Isabel Williams and wife, Linda.
Viewing 7-7:30pm with Rosary 7:30pm Sun 10/1 and Mass 11am Mon 10/2, all services at Sacred Heart Church, Denver. Burial 1:15pm Mon 10/2 Ft. Logan, meet at Staging Area C by 1:05pm.
