John James Karahalios, 73, of Thornton, passed away on November 7, 2016.
He was born January 20, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Anthony and Katherine (Coffero) Karahalios. From the age of 3 he was raised by Elsie L. Yunker of Orland Park, IL, along with his brother, Tony and Step-Sister, Pamela Mack (Elsie's granddaughter).
He was a graduate of Carl Sandberg High School in Orland Park, IL. He attended Joliet Junior College and The University of Illinois at Chicago Circle.
John's passion for electronics led him to work for Andrews Corporation for many years in Orland Park, IL.
John moved to Denver in the 1980s to be closer to his brother.
John was an avid gem collector, enjoyed building model airplanes and working with electronics. John also was a HAM radio operator.
John is survived by Brother, Anthony F. (Maryann) Karahalios; Step-Sister, Pamela (Edward) Mack; and Many nieces, nephews and extended family from the Karahalios and Yunker families.
He is preceded in death by foster mother, Elsie L. Yunker; Father, Anthony Karahalios; Mother, Katherine Karahalios and Three Step-Brothers, Martin, Van and Eugene Yunker.
