John Patrick Mclaughlin

August 19, 1937 — October 31, 2014

John Patrick McLaughlin , 77, of Littleton, passed away October 31, 2014. John (Jack) passed away after a short term illness with cancer on October 31st, 2014. He was being visited and comforted by his wife Marlene, his children and step-sons. He died peacefully at St. Anthony's Hospital where he received excellent care.

He was born August 19, 1937 in Denver, Colorado, the son of John and Magdalena (Becker) McLaughlin. On July 7, 1984 he married Marlene Kennedy, of Denver, Colorado. Jacks' love for Marlene was unconditional and unwavering as well as his love for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jack was a self-taught man with many talents, all of which he did with perfection.

There is much joy in Jacks' life reflections and his life story as he always told them with heartfelt pride and conviction. Jack spoke often about his memories with family near and far and you knew he loved them.

He had a beautiful vegetable garden in his backyard and when you visited, you never went home empty-handed. He and Marlene made blessed memories for our family with many gatherings and BBQ's at their home. He often worked in his garage making cabinets with his sons. His sons and step-sons helped make wood teeter-totters, planters, seated toy boxes, a jewelry box, etc, for his grandchildren and others.

Jack worked most of this life delivering bread on large routes he built himself, he also did a lot of work for others with repairs, house painting and remodeling. He never took short cuts with his work no matter how big or small it was.

Jack also loved to watch boxing and the Colorado Avalanche, but most of all he loved to watch the Denver Broncos play.

John is survived by Nine Daughters, Kathleen (David) Perry, Elizabeth Knight, Jeanette Pratt, Marguerite (Jay) Thomas, Colleen McLaughlin, Natalie McLaughlin, Patricia McLaughlin, Kelly McLaughlin, Barbara McLaughlin; Three Sons, John McLaughlin, Michael (Tanya) McLaughlin, Robert McLaughlin; Three Step-Sons, Billy (Darcy) Kennedy, Dennis (Annette) Kennedy, Jesse (Carol) Kennedy; Two Sisters, Janet Gray, Jeannie (James) Christensen; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by Father, John Francis McLaughlin; Mother, Magdalena McLaughlin; and Sister, Joann Winter.

The family would like to thank all of his family and friends for prayers and well wishes. God Bless.
