John Philip Barbarigos

November 21, 1947 — February 18, 2015

John Philip Barbarigos was called home to heaven at 67 years of age, on February 18th, 2015.

Whether you knew him as John, Phil, Dad, Papa, or the "Cookie Man".... Your life was forever changed! You could have known him for many many years or simply just 5 minutes in the grocery store checkout lane. Didn't matter. Regardless if he was talking about aliens, motorcycles, or politics, you were sure to hear about Boo and learn about the entire family... Before you knew it, you were sucked in by his charming smerk, bad jokes, or merely his sense of thought. He was such a passionate man who inspired so many people, both big and small, with his great spirit and big personality.

He was so much more than just a man... We must honor this... For he was such a special gift from God for each and every one of us, to teach us, the importance of LOVE....

With that being said, it makes every thought we have of him even that more special. I believe you would agree that we are all very fortunate to have our own memories of him. Our family has this gathering place... A special place... A KITCHEN... I know what your thinking, but let me explain... This kitchen is special, beyond the old school white Formica counter tops, home made curtains, and the linoleum floor is a Terrrrriffic room of American lovin', Sturgis doin', Betty Boop havin', with smiley faces on every wall! Anyone who knows us knows this will always be the heart of our family and God forbid if you ever leave there hungry. This man along side of his woman shaped so many lives here. Sooo many hours of hanging out in there... All the laughing, growing, yelling, and tears, his words never lacked purpose and his wisdom shed love to everyone!

As hard as this is for all of us to imagine, God has a plan, and you can surely bet that he is in Heaven, catching everyone up on what Boo and the kids are doing and waving around that cocky little grin that we all new good and well..

This sweet charmer was survived by his beautiful wife and best friend of 47 amazing years, Star (Inkster) Barbarigos. Extremely proud father of his 2 sons James Barbarigos, Bryan (Cathy) Barbarigos. His baby girl, Sheri (Omar) Cano. Attentive Grandfather of Ashleah (Cory), Samantha (Trey), Scott, Aubrey, Athena, Sophia, and Lil' Sam. Blessed Great-Grandfather of Joshua and Rozabelle.

We'll Always Love you DAD... Thank you for being you!

Our family will be meeting friends in his honor at Ft. Logan National Cemetery and will be commenced at Staging Area A at 3pm. Please be there by 2:45pm. (1st small gate heading South on Sheridan, follow signs to Staging Area "A"
