John Stewart Hurd

January 15, 1947 — October 25, 2012

John S. Hurd passed away October 25, 2012.

John was a loving husband and best friend to his wife, a dad to his kids, a papa to his grandchildren, a brother to his siblings, and a friend to many. John was married to Susan for 43 inseparable years. Over those years they raised 2 wonderful children Jason and Donnis, ran successful businesses, and loved each other unconditionally. Throughout John's illness Sue was ever by his side, caring for John, sleeping in hospital rooms, and spending every precious moment together. Their love, dedication, and unbreakable bond is a shining example to everyone they know. John will be greatly missed by his family and his friends.

John was able to make a career sharing his passion for aviation with countless others. John was a teacher and a mentor to both student and veteran pilots and his expertise helped many of them realize their dreams in aviation.

His wish was to have a very private service with his loving family. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Weld County Humane Society or Adams County Animal Shelter / Adoption Center in John's name.

John's family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to John's sister in law Judy, who selflessly assisted John and Sue by acting as a loving caretaker and companion throughout his illness.
