John Thomas Bryant Jr., 56, of Denver, passed away Wednesday October 1, 2014.
John was born in Sayre, PA on September 16, 1958, to John and Katherine Bryant. John spent his formative years growing up in Waverly, New York and at age 13 with his family moved to Denver, Colorado. He attended school in Denver, participated in Job Corps and was in the Army Reserves.
John's passions were Basketball and Music. His nickname on the court was "Johnny Elbows". He always loved R&B and one of his favorite artists was D'Angelo. In later years he found Jazz as an addition to his musically interests.
John is survived by his son Isaiah Bryant; step-father James Barnes and mother Katherine Barnes, of Denver; great aunt Jean Brown, Ithaca, NY; brother Edward Bryant and wife Willa, of Covina, CA; sisters Dawn Bryant, Kelly Bryant, Wendy Williams, of Denver, Kimberly Bartinaux and husband William, of Redmond, WA. He also is survived by two granddaughters Erin and Tajh and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father John Bryant Sr.,
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to the Epilepsy Foundation http://www.epilepsycolorado.org.
A memorial service will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home Monday, October 13th at 2 pm, with gathering 1 hour before and after the services.
Re-pass will be held at New Dawn Center for Spiritual Living located at 1680 S. Chambers Road, Aurora, CO 80017 at 4 pm.
