Johnnie B. "JB" Cook was born to Bertha Lee Carroll Cook and Vesper Cook on April 30, 1947. He was the second child of four children born to this union; both of his parents and one sibling preceded him in death.
At a young age he joined 8th Street Baptist Church. There he served on the Usher Board, attended Sunday School and went to Baptist Training Union (BTU).
Johnnie graduated from Summer High School in Kansas City, Kansas in 1965.
After High School he held various jobs in Kansas and California to include Sunken Gilmore Steel Company, before moving to Denver, Colorado in 1980.
Once in Colorado Johnnie pursued a career in Barbering. He attended Barber Vocational School and went on to become a Barber Instructor at Colorado Barber College and at International Training.
Johnnie met Patricia Halfacre and went on to marry her on May 26th, 1995 in Denver, Colorado. Most recently he rededicated his life to Christ and joined Anchor of Hope Church in Denver, CO.
He leaves to cherish three sons, Johnnie B Cook, Jr. (Lisa), VA; Alfie Carter, Kansas City, KS; Jerome Cook, Denver, CO; three daughters, Michelle Phillips-Jones, Atlanta, GA; Khiana Leapheart, Kansas City, KS; Simone Cook, Denver, CO; two step-children, Angie Lewis, Denver, CO; Isaac Evans, Denver, CO; 11 grandchildren; siblings and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
