Jose Gabriel Romero

Jose Gabriel Romero, 70, of Denver, Colorado passed away Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Presbyterian St. Luke's Hospital.
He was born March 24, 1943, in Las Vegas, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents Jose Catarino Romero and Victoria Frutosa and sister, Cornelia Fabiola.
On November 16, 1963 he married Maria Francisca Martinez. They lived in Commerce City, CO; moved to Denver, CO; then Las Vegas, NV and then back to Denver, CO. Jose worked as a Union Carpenter in the Denver and Las Vegas areas for many years before retiring. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 3rd degree. Jose and Maria celebrated fifty years of marriage in 2013.
He enjoyed playing horseshoes, shooting pool, bowling, hunting, fishing and helping others.
Jose was a good provider and supportive of his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with all of them.
He is survived by his wife Maria; five children: Joann (Anthony Duran); Cathy (Eddie Paz); Gabriel (Loretta); Jennifer (Manuel Carrillo); Robert (Melinda); and ten grandchildren: Michelle, Daniel, Isaiah, Joey, Aleni, Jessenia, Angel, Kalina, Eliseo, and Santana.
Jose is also survived by his siblings: Emily (the late Adolfo Barela); Mike (Marge); Connie (Fred Miller); Rose (Jose Calderon); and Victor (Bernadette). Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He is loved and will be missed!
