Joseph G. "Jose" Lopez Sr., 94, of Denver, passed away February 22, 2017.
He was born March 1, 1922, in Denver, the son of the late Henry and Josephine (Bustos) Lopez.
Joseph was a Milkman for Garden Farm/ Seal Test Dairy for 30 years before he retired.
Joseph was a member of the Teamsters Local 537. He was also a parishioner of Our Lady Of Visitation Catholic Church. He also volunteered with Meals on Wheels.
He enjoyed jewelry making. Joseph also loved spending time in the mountains, fishing and camping. He enjoyed playing checkers, poker and dominos. He also enjoyed his trips to Black Hawk and Las Vegas. Joseph also invented and patented a learning toy for children, ABC Teaching Device.He was also a baseball Little League coach and later was President for the Hidden Lake Little League. He also took the first Girl's softball team to Arizona while he was President. Joseph loved animals as well.
Survived by sons Joe (Judy) Lopez Jr., Pierre (Yvette) Lopez and Christopher (Linda) Lopez; 8 grandchildren, Desiree Thompson, Todd Arroyo, Larry Arroyo, Victor Roybal, Denise Calvo, Michelle Martinez, Joey Lopez Jr. and Kara Lopez; 18 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Henry Lopez and LeRoy Lopez; sister Gloria Lopez and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Preceded in death by wife, Jessie Lopez; 3 daughters, Juanita Roybal, Barbara Benevidez and Diana Lopez; parents Henry and Josephine Lopez and brothers, Vincent Lopez and Frank Lopez.
Visitation will be 9-10am with Mass at 10am Thurs 3/2, all services will be held at Our Lady of Visitation, 2531 W. 65th Pl. Denver. Burial Highland Cemetery.
