Listen to Obituary

Joyce Marie (Miller) Pedron

Joyce passed away peacefully at home on August 31, 2025 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Joyce was born in Longmont, Colorado on March 7, 1941 to Helen (Plandel) Miller and Charles Miller. She grew up in Erie, Colorado and graduated from Erie High School in 1959. She then enrolled at Barnes Business College. She married George Pedron at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lafayette, Colorado. on October 16, 1965. The couple moved to Aurora, Colorado. There was a brief stay in Salida, Colorado, but they returned to Aurora and finally settled on Wheeling Street in 1968. George and Joyce had been married almost 60 years.

Office work, transcribing and retail work at OG Wilson and Mervyn’s kept Joyce busy. She was the queen of the jewelry counter. Also keeping her on her toes were her three children: Mark, Gina and Tony. The family enjoyed camping throughout Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region. Most summers were spent on their property in Fairplay, Colorado where they enjoyed fishing, campfires, Burro Days and a good game of badminton. Joyce was known to have a mean spike. Joyce and George also enjoyed other travels including Branson, MO; Hawaii; cruises to the New England area and Alaska; trips to see Mark in Ohio, Tennessee and Kentucky; as well as a tour through Europe. She had a great knack of finding the best souvenirs to remember their travels which also may have kept a suitcase or two from being able to be closed. Once the grandkids came, they were the lights of her life and she spent all the time she could with them.

Besides collecting souvenirs and schnauzer paraphernalia, Joyce enjoyed needlework, gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, playing UNO and finding deals. She loved Archie Bunker, Judge Judy and Elvis.

Joyce is preceded in death by both parents. She is survived by her husband George, children Mark (Ginny), Gina (Chris), Tony; granddaughters Natalie, Caitlyn and Samantha.

Joyce has left a huge hole in our hearts. We’ll miss her laughter, banter, cooking, and great sayings such as “That’s all what we got.” Thank you for being our wife, mom and grandma (memaw). We love you.
