In that great getting up morning.

The sun rose for Juanita Estelle Pruett on February 19, 1937, in Brooklyn, New York, when she was born to Preston Brown and Doris M. Black. Many happy and precious moments were spent in her childhood with her brother, Henry Lee and her sister Jean Lamour. Juanita and Jean loved to go to Apollo Theater when they were teenagers.

She dedicated her life to caring for elderly patients.  Her life was richly blessed with six beautiful children, Doris, Sidney (Deceased), Willie, Denice, Vandell and Venus. Juanita’s children made her doubly happy by presenting her with Seventeen grandchildren, Twenty-four great grandchildren, Three great-great grandchildren, and three daughters in law and host of nieces and nephews. Host of cousins and friends. Special friends, Sis Dorsey, Sis Milton and Sis Washington, Sis Michael and Bro Fields.

A member of United Community Baptist Church in Coney Island Brooklyn, she relocated to Denver, Colorado became a member of Community Seven Day Adventist in Aurora, Colorado. She enjoyed fellowship with her church family and hosting Sabbath dinners.

To know Juanita was to love her. Mom will let people know I'm from Brooklyn. Not only will Juanita be missed by her family she will be missed by her dog, "Queenie" her guard dog and Aston her grand dog.
