Judith Gail Martinez
Born April 29th 1940 to Harold and Lena Jakel in Greeley Colorado. Judith Ascended peacefully into heaven May 24th 2013. At the Colliers hospice at Exempla Lutherans Medical center in Wheat Ridge Colorado with eldest daughter Julie by her side. Judith was a Matriarch, foundation and role model for generations to come. Her avid love of reading, traveling, gardening and many types of music and art paled in comparison to the love she held for her family whom she fought and sacrificed every day until her very last breath for. Judith was the type of woman who wouldn't put up with any ill will from even the most irrefutable characters but within the same breath and moment would give everything and the shirt off her back for a complete stranger in need. She will be missed dearly by her ever growing and expanding family. Daughter, Sister, Mother, Aunt, Grandmother, Great-grandmother and friend to many. Although Judith held many titles throughout her life, these were her most treasured and the ones she held onto deeply and had the most pride in.
The great loves of her life included Her daughters; Julie Gaye LeBois, Lisa Dawn Nail, Christy Noel McCready and late son Carl Nathan Hildreth who passed away in early infancy. Brothers; Larry Jakel and the late Gary Jakel along with her late sisters Dianne Jakel and Carol Jakel who greeted her open arms through those pearly gates. Her nieces and nephews; Michael and Megan Jakel (Larry's children), Gary and Doug Jakel (Gary's children) who in her later years did not get to visit often but held so very dear in her heart and expressed in pictures on her fridge and bookshelves. Her grandchildren; Bradley LeBois and Cherie LeBois (Julie's children), Wesley Nail, Aaron Beckers, Blake Rudolph and Jasmine Rudolph (Lisa's children) and Brennan Weekley (Christy's son) who she was extremely close with and talked with almost daily. Her great-grandchildren; the late Anage' Drush, Gabriel Eggart, Abigail Eggart and Aurorah Dick (Cherie's children), Cameron Nail and Carlee Nail (Wesley's children), Ferrari Beckers (Aaron's daughter) and Carter Weekley (Brennan's son) who she would also visit with often. Judith was smitten to find out she was expecting 2 new great-grandchildren in early summer (Aaron's expecting another daughter) and late fall (Cherie is expecting another son).
Although she will not get to greet future generations in this physical world her legacy from the knowledge, wisdom, compassion for humanity and love of life that she instilled into her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will live on through current generations and for generations to come. Her great legacy and true selflessness will live in our hearts forever. This world has truly lost a great and wise woman.
She will be buried alongside her late husband Reynaldo Martinez at Crown Hill Cemetery and a small service and burial will be held on June 10th 2013, 1:00pm at Crown Hill Cemetery with her immediate family.
