MONTE VISTA — Monte Vista resident Julia R. Zertuche, 60, passed away July 3, 2011 at the University of Colorado Hospital.
Julia was born June 16, 1951 in Salida, Colorado the daughter of Gene Vigil and Trancita Marquez. She was a longtime bus driver of 25 years who enjoyed all of the kids she met throughout the years. She also enjoyed fishing, hunting, being outside watching the birds, and most of all spending time with her loving family.
Survivors include her husband John Zertuche of Monte Vista, Colo.; son Fidenzio Zertuche (Courtney Archuleta) of Denver, Colo.; grandchildren Lucas and Caitlin. She is also survived by several brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.
Julia was preceded in death by her father Gene Vigil, mother Trancita West (Bill West), John Ben Zertuche (Creselia Zertuche), four brothers and one sister.
