Julian Janus died March 9, 2013 in Denver, CO. He was born Julian Januszczyk in Poland on April 23, 1917. He was 95 years old.
Julian served in the Polish Cavalry during World War II. He survived being a prisoner of war in Germany. After the war Julian came to the United States from Germany. He lived in Chicago, IL where he met his wife of 60 years Janina Pietruszewski. The family moved to Denver, CO in 1970.
Julian was a jeweler. He enjoyed the beauty of the mountains that brought him to Colorado. He also enjoyed photography, traveling all over the world, music and a special passion for animals.
Julian is survived by his wife Janina, children Barbara Velasco of Chicago, IL, Gerhard Simm of Weiden, Germany, Christine Reese of Denver, CO and Miranda Janus Marinko of Burbank, CA; his 6 grandchildren Michelle, Angela, Alex, Elizabeth, Claudia, Marco and 13 great-grandchildren.
He lived a wonderful and long life. He will be missed.
