Julie Mitri El-Hajj, 101, of Denver, Colorado, passed away on March 13, 2015.

Julie was born on July 1, 1913 in beautiful Beirut, Lebanon. Julie was the daughter of Mitri El-Hajj and Saada Berbari. Julie was a graduate of Choueifat High School and the American University of Beirut. In 1951, Julie married the love of her life, Ilias Zakaria, in Baghdad, Iraq. Ilias was a civil engineer and Julie was a school teacher. Julie worked as a school teacher in Iraq for over 50 years. Julie educated many of Iraq's future doctors, lawyers, engineers, business and Iraqis in many other professions.

Julie is survived by her one and only child, her son, Wail Zakaria, beautiful daughter in-law, Nimo Shukri and two grandsons, Fadi and Elee Ilias. Julie is preceded in death by her husband, Ilias Zakaria, father, Mitri El-Hajj and mother, Saada Berbari.

Memorial contribution may be made to Saint Elias Antiochian Orthodox Church in Arvada, Colorado.
