Julie "Duda" Patterson

Julie "Duda" Patterson, 82, passed away on May 4, 2025, in Aurora, Colorado. Born on August 22, 1942, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Julie lived a life marked by service, devotion to family, and a deep love for animals.

Julie began her professional journey working as a cook for the Littleton, Colorado schools and at Buckley Air National Guard Base. Her commitment to helping others led her to pursue a career as a paramedic—a role she embraced with dedication and compassion for the remainder of her working life.

A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Julie’s faith was a guiding force throughout her life. She found strength and community in her beliefs and remained devoted to her church throughout the years.

Julie had a special place in her heart for animals, especially horses and dogs. Her affection for them was well known among those close to her. She is lovingly remembered by her Grand dog Merle and fur baby Cid.

She is survived by her daughter Debra Collins (Kevin); her siblings Paul Wood (Linda), David Wood (Maureen), and Janelle Conan (Roger); and her brother-in-law Guy Evans.

Julie was preceded in death by her daughter Clare Patterson; her parents Clare Wood and Mark Decker Wood; and her sisters Halene Koch and Diane Evans.

Julie’s legacy lives on through the lives she touched—both professionally as a paramedic and personally as a beloved friend and family member. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Viewing will be held on May 17, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 19877 E. 47th Ave. The funeral service will begin at 11:00am, with a reception to follow.
