Juliette Mary Jane Hays
Juliette Mary Jane Hays (Frere) passed away on November 21, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. "Judy" was born in her home in Firestone, Colorado, on March 23, 1943 to John B. and Mary Louise (Herambourg) Frere. She graduated from Frederick High School in 1961 and then married Jacob W. Hays on June 22, 1963. The couple honeymooned in Jacob's hometown of Greensburg, PA, where she met her family-in-law for the first time. She worked full time in accounting until retirement and was especially active with camping, crocheting, bowling and being a supermom for her family. She was an avid collector of birdhouses and loved the color blue.
Judy is survived by her husband, two children (Leon W. Hays and Shelly K. Hays) and four grandchildren (Jacob Hays, McKenna Eccles, Hunter Hays and Logan Hays). Judy is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Sylvia Brethauer. She is survived by her brother John L. Frere and sisters, Josie Lucero and Carol Spell.
A celebration of Judy's life will be held at Newcomer Mortuary located at 901 S. Sheridan Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80226. A viewing will be held from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday, December 3. The funeral will take place at 11am, Monday, December 4, with interment immediately following at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Thereafter, a luncheon and fellowship will take place at Newcomer Mortuary.
