Listen to Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Justin Michael Occhionero, who passed away on July 5, 2026, at the age of 44.His life was filled with humor, resilience, memorable stories, and a remarkable ability to make people laugh.

Justin was born on March 23, 1982, in Stamford, Connecticut, to Gale Strickler and Michael Occhionero, who preceded him in death. The family takes comfort in knowing that Justin and his father are together again.

Justin is survived by his mother, Gale Strickler; his stepfather, Duane Strickler; his older sister, Kimberly Jezek and her husband, Robbie; his twin sister, Heather Occhionero Tialdo and her husband, Tim; his nephews, Michael and Oliver Jezek; and his nieces, Teale, Collins, and Georgia Tialdo.

Justin graduated from Lemon Bay High School in Englewood, Florida, in 2001. He later attended Front Range Community College and earned his bartending certification, which suited his natural love of people, conversation, and being at the center of a good time.

For several years, Justin participated in the Special Olympics Colorado as a basketball player. He approached the game with determination, enthusiasm, and the same larger-than-life personality he brought to everything he did.

Justin was known for his quick wit, infectious smile, and unmistakable sense of humor. He loved making people laugh and rarely missed an opportunity to joke, perform, or command the room. Beneath that humor was a deeply loved son, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence will never be forgotten.
