Kandi Johnston, 39, of Strasburg, passed away August 12, 2015.
She was born February 15, 1976 in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Mike and Kathy (Horn) Johnston. She was a graduate of Bennett High School.
Kandise is survived by her parents, Mike and Kathy Johnston; brother, J.R. Johnston; nephew, Ethan Johnston and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Kandi was an amazing woman, daughter, friend, sister, cousin, niece & aunt; I can't even begin to express how proud we are of the person she had grown to be. Her free-spirit, thoughtfulness, kind-heart, giving and caring personality as well as her "tell like it is" whether you like it or not attitude, and all her little quirks is what made Kandi who she was. She was a "no-frills" kind of gal, could make a sailor (or a truck driver) blush, and then fill your heart with love & joy…all in the blink of an eye.
She loved animals of all kinds but especially dogs and her "girlies" were always the light of her life. Kandi taught herself to crochet and did some amazing projects, did amazing blankets, baby items, stuffed animals for friends & family, if she couldn't find a pattern, she figured it out on her own. All you had to do is ask or not even ask and she would do it because she loved doing things for people. She was also an avid reader and always had at least 2-3 books going at the same time. She tried college a few times and finally succeeded by graduating from Western Governors University with a Bachelors degree in accounting in 1-1/2 years.
Kandi was her "Daddy's Little Girl", my best friend & my crafting partner, Pooters buddy and the best sister a brother could ever have. There will always be a hole in our hearts. May you always rest in peace and watch over us. We love you.
