In Loving Memory of Karvelas Leon Stevens

Karvelas Leon Stevens, born November 2, 1966, in Sumter, South Carolina, to Dorothy Jean and Curtis Stevens, he passed away June 16, 2026 in Denver, Colorado, leaving behind a legacy of faith, hard work, generosity, and love for his family and friends.

Karvelas was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence brought strength and comfort to those around him. He served his country in the United States Army, including service during the Gulf war. Following his military service, he built a career in the oil and gas drilling industry as a derrickhand. To be closer to home he pivoted his career to heavy equipment operator, earning the respect of coworkers and friends through his strong work ethic, dedication, and determination. He was a man who believed in working hard and providing for those he loved.

Karvelas was a man of faith who loved God. His kindness and willingness to help others were known by everyone who met him. As his brother once said, “That’s my superhero.” If Karvelas had something to give, he would share it. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

He found great joy in life’s simple pleasures—cooking meals for family and friends, watching football and basketball, and spending time with his beloved grandsons, whom he affectionately called “his boys.” Some of his happiest moments were spent making memories with them, sharing laughter, stories, and unconditional love.

Karvelas was preceded in death by his parents, stepmom Jane Stevens, and stepbrother Marlin Stevens.

Karvelas is survived by his loving spouse, Lynnae Stevens of Denver, CO; his children, Karvela Stevens of San Antonio, TX, Kayla (Corey)Stevens Earvin of Sneads Ferry, NC, Antrell (Stacey) Felder of Sumter, SC, Kayleigh (Diego) Torales of Greeley, CO, and Delaney Dale of Denver, CO; his siblings, Cedrick (Tiffany) Stevens of Sumter, SC, Maurice (Chiquia) Stevens of Sumter, SC, and Shaita Stevens of Sumter, SC, his cherished grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will forever treasure his memory.

Those who knew Karvelas will remember a man of faith, strength, generosity, and unwavering love, worked tirelessly for his family, and never met a stranger. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the lessons he taught, and the love he shared.

Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that his spirit, faith, and love will continue to guide them. Karvelas Leon Stevens will be remembered not only for what he accomplished, but for the kind of man he was: a devoted servant of God, a veteran, a hardworking provider, and a true superhero to those who loved him.
