Listen to Obituary

Kathleen Elizabeth Ferrell (Jameson), 86, passed away on April 23, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and an unbreakable spirit. Born in London, England, on May 26, 1939, to Christopher and Kathleen Jameson, Kathleen’s early life was shaped by the challenges of World War II. Seeing her community pull together during the Blitz left a permanent mark on her heart, instilling in her a lifelong belief in looking out for one’s neighbor and a willingness to "give the shirt off her back" to anyone in need.

It was in London that she met the love of her life, Ray Ferrell. They were married there on July 26, 1958, beginning a 28-year partnership characterized by adventure and devotion. Following Ray’s career in the Air Force, they eventually settled in Colorado. Though she faced the profound loss of Ray when he was only 49, and later the heartbreaking loss of her youngest daughter, Sandra, Kathleen’s signature sense of humor and inner strength carried her through the difficult years.

Kathleen never lost her connection to her roots, frequently returning to London to visit her beloved sister, Carole Gaylor, and her husband John. She cherished every moment spent with them and her nieces, Jenny and Helen. While she mourned the recent passing of Carole and John, the memories of their time together remained a great source of comfort to her.

Kathleen expressed her love for her community through her kitchen and her curiosity. She was an avid cook who found great joy in feeding others, frequently preparing treats for her family, friends, and neighbors. She was also a voracious reader who loved getting lost in a good story. True to her generous nature, as soon as she finished a book, she made sure to donate it to programs where others could share in her joy of reading.

Above all, Kathleen adored her family. She was the heart of her home, and nothing brought her more joy than being "Grandma" to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
