Kathleen "Kathy" Marie Black, 58, of Aurora, passed away May 8, 2016 from a stroke.
She was born on February 9, 1958 in Denver, Colorado, to the parents of Phillip and Carol (Wilson) Black. Kathy was the second of four children from Carol.
Kathy has always showed signs of compassion towards animals. She would always feed the squirrels, birds and even the raccoons. She had several squirrel friends that would come up to see her daily. They all had names and answered to them when called. She also saved the lives of several out door cats. All of her babies lived with her until the day they died. Each of these cats gave her so much more than anyone could ever have imagined. They where like her children.
Kathy always worked with people. She worked as waitress for over 20 years before she finally got a chance to do what she really enjoyed. Kathy had a love for music. Her favorite job was working at Sam Goody, there she was able to find most of her intensive music collection.
While working at Sam Goody, Kathy went back to school to finish up getting her GED as well as going to Pickens Tech for an Accounting Certificate. Shortly after completing this accomplishment, she was diagnosed with Cancer. Kathy never really recovered from this and continued to decline health wise.
Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Amber Black; granddaughter, Haylie Black; step dad Terry Wilderman and brother, Scott Farley, and 5 cats.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Phillip Black and Carol Wilderman; sister, Susan Pritchard; and brother, John Black.
