Kathreen Segura, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026, in Englewood, Colorado, at the age of 76. Born on July 28, 1949, in Denver, Colorado, Kathreen’s journey through life was marked by courage, warmth, and an unwavering devotion to her family.

Kathreen grew up in Denver, shaped by the loving hands of her parents, Joseph and Emma Lucero, and the laughter of her siblings, with whom she shared a lasting bond. Throughout her life, Kathreen’s heart was open, her arms always ready to embrace others, and her wisdom eagerly offered to those who sought it.

Kathreen’s children, Regina Atencio and Desiree Stange, were blessed to have a mother who modeled strength, grace, and unconditional love. Her legacy continues to shine in her grandchildren—Devin Martinez, Billie Martinez, Metzli Hernandez, Dennis Stange, Samuel Stange, Chico Stange, and Asher Stange—each touched profoundly by her nurturing spirit and gentle encouragement. In her great-grandchildren, Saint Angel and Juniper Jackson-Martinez, Kathreen found renewed joy and hope for the future.

Family was the heart of Kathreen’s universe. She delighted in every gathering, whether it was a quiet afternoon or a boisterous celebration, cherishing the laughter and stories shared. Her life was also enriched by the special connections she maintained with her siblings: Delores Johns, Geraldine Garcia, Noreen Espinoza, Christine Villalovas, and John Lucero. Though she mourned the loss of her dear sister Grace Delgado, and her parents, their memories continued to inspire her compassion and resilience.

Those who knew Kathreen will remember her radiant smile, her generosity, and the light she brought to every room. She was a confidante, a gentle teacher, and a steadfast friend whose presence brought comfort and peace. Whether offering words of encouragement or simply sitting quietly by a loved one’s side, Kathreen made each moment meaningful.

Kathreen’s journey will be honored at a Celebration of Life held on July 17, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, West Metro, located at 901 S Sheridan Blvd, Denver, CO 80226. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of her remarkable life and the enduring love she shared with all who knew her.
