Kathryn Ann Johnson, 73, of Golden, passed away April 7, 2016.
She was born November 21, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Chester and Viola (Cannon) Woolley.
She was a graduate of Cheyenne High School in Cheyenne, WY. On August 9, 1960, she married Melvin Johnson Jr.
She was very active in her church, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Foothills Ward. Kathryn was a genealogy specialist and also active in leadership roles within her ward. She selflessly gave of herself to others.
Kathryn loved researching genealogy and building puzzles. She also enjoyed crocheting caps and baby clothes for the Warm Hearts, Warm Hands charity for babies. She loved to work in her yard and garden. She had a soft spot for feeding squirrels and stray cats in the neighborhood. She also enjoyed thrift shopping and food storage. Her chocolate stash was one her family will speak of for years. One of the highlights of her life was being able to travel to Europe last year with her daughters Jennie and Amy. Above all, she will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a great listener, enjoyed visiting with her friends, and would never judge you for what you had to say.
Kathryn is survived by Three Daughters, Karrie Jo (Scott Roney) Nelson, Jennie Kay Johnson and Amy Sue (Lee) Adair; Son, Paul Shay (Donna) Johnson; Eight Grandchildren, Alexandra Kay (John) Mitchell, Thatcher Glen (Tashley) Johnson, Tanner Shay Johnson, Eli Duncan Johnson, Ashley Ann (Nathan) Stark, Arthur Christian Adair, Lindsey E.
