Katrina James Hunter

March 22, 1973 — January 13, 2014

On Monday January 13, 2014 at 9:15 A.M. our family, friends and the world lost an Angel. Katrina "Kat" James Hunter departed this world. Kat was one of the most giving people I have ever known. She was very active with the American Legion in Wichita, Kansas and she founded and ran a Fibromyalgia Support Page which has several thousand people nationwide that looked to her for inspiration, informative and well researched guidance for chronic Pain Sufferers. Kat was very concerned with the wellbeing of others, instead of herself. She and her husband, Shawn Hunter, owned a business in Wichita, Kansas and they were both active in local and regional charities, giving back was always a priority for the Hunters.

Kat was a Desert Storm era Navy Medical Corpsman stationed both at the Navy Medical Hospital in Okinawa, Japan as well as Bethesda Naval Medical Center. She was a third generation military; starting with her grandfather, who was a Master Chief during WWII.

Kat is survived by her husband, Shawn Hunter and her sons from our combined families, Andrew Hunter 22, Patrick Hunter 18 and Zakery Wagoner 18; parents Douglas and Mary Pickering of Greeley, CO; brother Arron Antonucci of Gulfport, MS and sister Valerie Sanchez of Terrell, TX. She is preceded in death by grandparents Albert and Vivian Antonucci and grandfather R.A. Hathaway.

She will be greatly and dearly missed not just by hundreds but thousands of people. Her influence stretches much farther that she ever knew.

She will always be my inspiration, my rock and my love...my sweet Angel
