Kazu "Kay" Kishimoto

Kazu "Kay" Kishimoto, 89, of Arvada, passed away November 28, 2017.

She was born March 28, 1928 in Gifu, Japan, the daughter of Arikichi and Itono Tanase. She met Thomas "Tom" Masa Kishimoto on the military base where she was working as a secretary. They married on November 22, 1954. After Tom completed his military duty, they returned to Fort Morgan, Colorado in 1955. Kay became a naturalized citizen on December 13, 1960. Tom and Kay spent most of their retirement years in Greeley, Colorado

Kay loved her children and was an wonderful seamstress. She enjoyed her dogs, growing roses, gardening, crafts, dancing and reading.

She is preceded by her husband, Tom; parents, Arikichi and Itono Tanase; daughter in-law, Lorna Kishimoto; grandson, Cody Kishimoto; brother, Yoji Tanase.

Kay is survived by three children, Michael (Connie) Kishimoto, David Kishimoto, and Ellen (Bert) Pihlstrom; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Jack) Spittler, Grace Kishimoto, Nicole Pihlstrom and Jessica Kishimoto; great grandchild, Luke Spittler.
