On May 3, 2025 our beloved Kenneth (Kenny) Anthony Arellano went to heaven on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025. He was surrounded by his loving family after battling a long illness. He fought hard to get better and it gives his family great peace knowing his pain and suffering are over forever.
Kenny was born on May 13, 1965, in Denver, Colorado. He was the son of Ross and Elfriede Arellano and was the youngest of their five children. He grew up with his family in Lakewood Colorado.
Kenny graduated from Alameda High School in 1984. He then went on to obtain his license as a Journeyman Electrician and was a proud member of the IBEW Local 68 Union for over 35 years.
Kenny married Kristina Marie (Wanczyk) Arellano on August 15, 1992, at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Lakewood Colorado. Kenny and Kristy both attended Alameda High School but did not start dating until after a chance meeting in 1989. They had three beautiful children, Taylor Ross Wanczyk Arellano born in 1996, Kiana Marie Wanczyk Arellano born in 1998 and Kaitlyn Ann Wanczyk Arellano born in 2001. Kenny and Kristy raised their children in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Tragedy struck the family when Kiana suffered a severe brain injury in 2013, and she later passed away in 2022.
Kenny worked as commercial electrician with the union for numerous companies for most of his career. Later he worked at Cyxtera as the electrical lead at one of their data centers for over 10 years and then for Wind Crest Senior Living. He loved helping and building relationships among the residents and staff there.
Kenny loved helping people and was able to fix most anything. Above all else he loved his children and his family. When each of his children were born, he took time off of work to stay home with them. He was so proud of his kids and loved being a father. He had a great sense of humor, was fun loving and was a skilled storyteller. His stories and animation will be missed by those closest to him including friends and family.
Kenny enjoyed the outdoors and liked to fish and hunt. He shared his love of the outdoors with his family at their cabin in Grand Lake.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Kristina Arellano; his son, Taylor Arellano; his daughter, Kaitlyn Arellano; his siblings Francisca Arguello, Sandra (Don) Wilson, Rosenaldo Jose (Tammy) Arellano Jr., and John (Nancy) Arellano; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Wanczyk; his sister-in-law, Deborah (Frank) Vega; and his brother-in-law, David (Nita) Wanczyk. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Kristy will continue to care for their beloved dogs Maverick and Gucci.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Rosenaldo Jose Arellano Sr. and Elfriede Arellano; his daughter, Kiana Arellano; and his father-in-law, Robert Wanczyk.
