Kenneth A. Beisel, 64, of Strasburg, passed away August 31, 2015.
He was born June 10, 1951 in Brighton, Colorado, the son of Alexander and Rose (Drieth) Beisel. He was a graduate of Adams City High School. Ken served in the Air Force for a few months before being injured in a warehouse accident. He was honorably discharged in 1971. On September 15, 1973 he married Jackie Gayman, of Commerce City, Colorado.
Ken was a bus driver with RTD for 36 years and was number one in seniority at East Metro Garage. He loved family dinners. He had a fascination and a love for anything that lit up....lighthouses, laterns, flashlights, etc. He loved cars, Harleys, trucks and tractors. In his younger years he was quite the drag racer. Jackie was with him in the '69 Road Runner when it was brand new and he buried the needle at 140mph! He won a drag race at Bandimere Speedway with a stock engine in a 1946 Ford Coupe. He never missed a gear! Ken enjoyed the quite and solitude and beauty of a mountain lake. He liked to fish with his sons, but seldom caught anything.
He was an easy going man and a master at aggravating his wife. Always pleasant and well liked at RTD for so many years. Ken is and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him!
Ken is survived by his wife, Jackie Beisel; two sons, Kevin (Brynne) Beisel and Mike Beisel; two grandchildren, Rachel and Jacob Beisel; brother, Dave Beisel; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Rose Beisel.
