Kenneth W. Schueller

Kenneth W. Schueller, 89, of Denver, Colorado, formerly of Dubuque, IA, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 8, 2016.

Surviving is his wife, Doris C. (Farni) Schueller, also formerly of Dubuque; his niece, Carol Bendel, of Dubuque, who was raised as a sister; and many nieces and nephews. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, nine sisters and four brothers.

Ken was born in Dubuque March 3, 1927, the youngest of the 14 children. Ken graduated from Loras Academy in 1945, served in the U.S. Army during 1945-1947, and worked as a railroad conductor for Illinois Central until retiring in 1984 after 37 years.

Ken moved to Colorado in 1985, where he married his long-time sweetheart, Doris, and was blessed with 31 years of marriage. Ken enjoyed traveling, being involved with his church community, and was a life-long learner.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 25, at 1:00 p.m., at the Mile Hi Church, 9077 W. Alameda Avenue, Lakewood, Colorado. Interment will be in Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado with military honors.

Ken will be greatly missed by all those who loved him.
