Kris Peacock

The world lost an amazing man on June 20, 2026. Kristopher Lynn Peacock (Kris) passed away at his home in Aurora, Colorado at the age of 47. Kris was born on November 26, 1978, in Boulder, Colorado to parents Terry and Marsha Peacock. He was born a twin with his brother Shawn and was the first born.

Raised in Colorado, he spent most of his preschool and grade school years in Louisville, Westminster and Franktown. His middle and high school years were in Parker and Franktown. He attended Ponderosa High School.

An energetic, active kid, he loved all outdoor activities and sports-soccer, tag & junior varsity football, tennis, skateboarding, rock climbing - even bowling. He especially loved water sports, wakeboarding, camping, and fishing! Summer days were spent at Chatfield Reservoir, Lake Powell as well as family trips to Lake Glendo.

Kris met the one and only love of his life, Nicole Ortega and they married in Hawaii on August 23, 2012. Two beautiful children were born to this union, Brenden Philip on July 23, 2003, and Kaydence Ann on November 23, 2009. Love of family was the single most important thing in his life followed by his love of Jesus.

Kris loved music from an exceedingly early age. He was gifted his first drum set as a toddler and a full professional drum set by age 12. He played drums in the youth band at Joy Lutheran Church in Parker, and with his dad's musical training and help, Kris, Shawn and three other friends formed the band Virus, later known as Stone Images.

Kris eventually turned his talents to the EDM (Electronic Dance Music) field becoming the DJ extraordinaire, "Jabberwocky" known and respected both locally and nationally. Through his close bond with his friend Nate Lemieux, Kris became a part owner of www.the-lost-art.com, a worldwide company dedicated to preserving the real craft and art of DJ music. Kris, son Brenden, and friend Jake Schroeder subsequently formed Dropkick Productions. Equally at home behind a set of drums or a pair of turntables, Kris had an innate understanding of how rhythm connects human hearts. He didn't just play music; Kris physically drove the energy of the room.

His creative talents extended into his work career. He worked side-by-side with his dad at Grayfield Corporation building custom ATA cases. He also collaborated with his brother Shawn's business framing houses, managed a home security system business, began a remodeling business with partner Danny McLaughlin at DKC Construction and started his own business KNB Carpentry & Remodel specializing in high-quality custom carpentry remodel projects.

While Kris has left us in this world, his dynamic essence lives on in those he loved. Kris leaves behind his wife, Nicole, children Brenden and Kaydence, parents Terry and Marsha, twin brother Shawn and sons Trenten and Kelton, in-laws Patricia, Greg, and son Josh Ortega. Kris is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as an infinite number of friends.

Kris was his happiest when surrounded by those he loved. To that end, a visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, East Metro Chapel at 190 Potomac Street, Aurora, CO.

A memorial service for Kris will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, beginning at 6:00 pm at Bethel Lutheran Church, 1450 Airport Blvd., Aurora, CO. A reception at the church will follow.
