Larry Elbert Allee, age 78, passed away on July 12, 2025. Born on March 6, 1947, in Sacramento, CA, Larry was the beloved son of Reva and Elbert Allee and the older brother of Terry Allee. He graduated from Grant Union High School in 1965 and was drafted for the Vietnam War in 1967.

Larry met his future wife, Laurie Jo Willey, on a hayride just two weeks before leaving. Larry left for Vietnam in June 1968 with the 82nd Airborne 3rd Brigade, known as the Golden Brigade. He finished his 1968-69 tour as a Sergeant, earning two Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star, and other medal commendations.

Two weeks after returning home, Larry proposed to Laurie, and they married on March 6, 1970, nine months later. In 1972, they moved to Colorado, where Larry worked for Sanford Homes building houses. They settled in Aurora, CO, and had two daughters, Charlene Elizabeth, born on December 7, 1974, and Sheena Diane, born on April 6, 1977.

After being laid off, Larry took a job with Ecolab Pest Elimination, where he worked until his retirement.

Larry was a devout Christian his entire life and was a church member at Aurora First Assembly of God/Highpoint Church for 46 years. He made close friends with his Young Married class which he kept for the rest of his life.

Larry was an avid fisherman and an excellent fly fisherman, even tying his own flies. He loved going on fishing trips with his daughters or his friends. He also enjoyed hunting and camping. He was very crafty and had many hobbies over the years including fish carving, painting, gold panning, carving walking sticks and plaques. He also told amazing stories as everyone who loved him knew.

Larry will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his hard work throughout his life. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Laurie Jo Allee, daughters Charlene and Sheena Allee and brother Terry Allee (Belinda). He also had close brother and sister-in-laws David and Sandi Willey, Jack and Buffy Zorn and nieces and nephews Jacob, Jamie and Joe Zorn, Sarah and Dovie Willey and Lex and Abby Allee. He will also be dearly missed by his closest family friends the Bacheller Family and Jim Newcomb. Larry was the best son, husband, father, brother and friend anyone could ask for.
