Larry Paul Hamilton of Denver, Colorado, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, just days before his 80th birthday. Born on November 28, 1945, in Mexico, Missouri, Larry spent most of his life in Arizona, where he and his wife, Darlene, began raising their family. Together, they welcomed two of their children in Arizona and two in Oregon, before eventually returning to Arizona to continue raising their family and building a warm, loving home filled with laughter and strong family values. In his later years, Larry moved to Denver, where he lived for the past four years surrounded by family and friends who loved him deeply.
Larry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Darlene Hamilton (2008), whom he married on September 24, 1963, in Modesto, California; his son-in-law, Michael Lyons; his grandson, Larry Kemp; and his parents, Celia Don Meyers and Frank J. Hamilton.
He is survived by his children: Karla Lyons, Daniel (Jacqueline) Hamilton, Donita (Eric) Behne, and Frank (Brenda) Hamilton, along with 13 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Larry cherished every moment spent with his family and delighted in watching each generation grow and thrive.
Throughout his life, Larry built a legacy grounded in hard work, dedication, and quiet strength. He worked as a casino maintenance technician, a truck driver, and owned his own landscaping business among many other endeavors. No matter the role, Larry was known for his reliability, his strong work ethic, and his readiness to help anyone who needed a hand. Those who worked beside him remember him as steady, skilled, and kind.
Beyond his work, Larry found joy in the simple pleasures that colored his days. He loved watching wrestling, laughing along to Young Sheldon and The Big Bang Theory, and relaxing with classic westerns, which were among his longtime favorites. These shows brought him comfort, plenty of laughs, and countless hours of enjoyment.
Outside of these interests, Larry’s greatest passion was the people he loved. With a warm heart, a sharp wit, and a gift for storytelling, he could light up any room he entered. He loved laughter, good company, and family gatherings that often ended with stories, smiles, and a sense of togetherness that he helped create. His humor, generosity, and genuine spirit touched all who knew him.
