Ret. M.Sgt. Lavaun "Les" Ellis, April 22, 1929 - December 19, 2011
Resident of Aurora, Colorado.
Les went to be with his Lord after a courageous battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. He passed away at his home in Aurora. Les was born in Alabama and was a member of the US Air Force for 26 years. After retiring, he had a career with Sileo Electronics, Denver.
He was one of 6 children born to the late Alex Ellis and Viola Randles and was the beloved husband of Betty Ellis for over 59 years. Les will forever be remembered by his family for his sense of humor and being a character to everyone he met. He loved listening to old country and bluegrass music, watching anything sports related, laughing, and being with his beloved Pomeranian, Tinker.
Les is survived by his wife, his daughters, Nancy (Les) Hess, Westminster, CO; Lori (Jeff) Collie, Solomon, KS; Linda Ellis, Aurora, CO; Lisa (Mark) Gilliland, Germany; Joy Ellis, Aurora, CO. His sons, Bert (Kathy) Ellis, Denver, CO; Eddie Ellis, Screven, GA. Daughter-in-law, Robin Ellis, Aurora, CO. 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Sister, Naomi (Scottie)Burns, Merced, CA. , Brother, Olin Ellis, and his Pomeranian, Tinker. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, son, Robert Ellis, daughter (in infancy), Lois Ellis, and grandson, Austin Chaney.
Friends and family are invited to attend visitation on Tuesday, December 27th from 4 to 8PM. Graveside service at Ft. Logan National Cemetery on Wednesday, December 28 at 11:00 AM staging area "A".
